Investigations of criminal offenses are accomplished by a Professionally trained Criminal Investigator.  The Criminal Investigator is also trained in crime scene search, and will many times collect evidence, take photographs and take command of the Investigation upon arrival. Latent fingerprints will often be attempted, possibly requiring that certain items be taken to the police station for better testing.

All Offenses are assigned to a Criminal Investigator for follow-up, even if the Investigator does not go to the scene of the crime.  Many offenses do not require the Investigator to respond immediately to the scene, as Patrol Officers frequently perform the essential functions of the basic crime scene invesitgation. The Criminal Investigator is also tasked with completing search warrants, warrants of arrest, both Adult and Juvenile Prosecution reports, directives to apprehend for juvenile offenders, Grand Jury Referals, filing paperwork and many other tasks. The Criminal Investigator makes every effort to keep the complainant informed as to the progress and current status of all investigations.

The Criminal Investigator for the Iowa Park Police Department is Lieutenant Jimmy Eaton who has been with the Department since 1992.

If you are interested in the status of a case that you have filed with the Iowa Park Police Department then you can contact Lt. Eaton either by e-mail or telephone.
